In the wake of that, they’re constantly trying to outdo one another in bizarre attempts to get the girl’s attention. That is, until they come to terms with the fact that they are both pursuing the same goal: victory. On the way to their destination, the two heroes happen to meet up on a bus and quickly become friends. However, after talking him out of selling the family business, Johnny eventually gets him to agree to go after the same wealthy heiress that Amar is interested in.

A famous movie star is Prem’s first goal in life, which horrifies his father but provides a perfect opportunity for a con artist, Johnny, to rob Prem of as much money as possible. With the exception of his low I.Q, Prem (Salman Khan) is an exact replica of Amar, which irritates his own father. As a result of his father’s numerous failures, Amar takes pride in adding another medal to his collection by selling his father’s barbershop and setting out on an impossible quest to marry a wealthy heiress with the proceeds. However, Amar turns out to be a local barber’s son, and he’s fed up with his lazy, good-for-nothing son. Until his father wakes him up and snaps him back to reality, everything appears to be going swimmingly for him in this fantasy world. He spends his days fooling around and daydreaming about doing just that. When Juhi Chawla’s car breaks down on her way to a film shoot, Amar (Aamir Khan) has a fantasy of rescuing her.
Due to this and other aspects, the film has gained a cult following among Indian filmgoers.Įven if there isn’t a story, Amar and Prem (a pair of scoundrels) follow their exploits as they try to make a name for themselves despite their difficult circumstances. From the first scene to the last, there are so many amazing moments that you might think you’re watching a long circus show that only lets you leave when you’re grinning maniacally. Comedic gags abound in this film, with elements of The Three Stooges, The Marx Brothers, and Laurel and Hardy all making appearances.
There was some time before the film became a hit, as was the case with “Citizen Kane,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and “The Shawshank Redemption.” In the long run, however, the film has become a fan favourite. “Andaz Apna Apna,” a 1994 comedy directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, is an example of this genre. However, there are films that, despite not being box office hits when they are initially released, become cult classics and true masterpieces over time.
